FACTOR INFLUENCING CHOICE OF SCIENCE CAREER AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOLS STUDENTS

ABSTRACT
This work is aimed at investigating the factor affecting the choice of science career among secondary school students. It is also to see the extent to which each of these factors can influence students’ choice of career in parituclar science career. 200 students randomly selected from five schools in Gbonyin Local Government Area of Ekiti State constitute the sample for the work. The research made used questionnaire in the collection of the data. Data analysis was carried out by the used of mean, standard deviation simple percentage and the T.test statistics. Relevant literature on factor affecting students choice of science career were reviewed and discussion the finding relevant that: (a) There is no significant relationship between the general attitude of male and female students career choice. (b) There is no significant relationship between the general attitude of male and female student career choice (c) there is no significant relationship between science career made by the student in SS2 and SS3 (d) thee is no significant relationship between attainment of students and their career choice (e) There is no significant relationship between peer group influence and student career choice based on the findings some recommendation were made.
