THE EFFECT OF RURAL TO URBAN MIGRATION ON THE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY OF PEOPLE OF ARA – EKITI, IJERO LOCAL GOVERNMENT
ABSTRACT
This research was undertaking to the study the effect of
rural – urban migration on the agricultural productivity of people of Ara Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area.
The
samples were drawn from the respondents through questionnaire and oral
interview s with personal observation, some written published
book were also consulted.
It
was discovered that [people migrated from
their loyalty to urban areas
because of lack of social amenities.
Such as lack of drinkable water, inadequacy
of electricity and lack of industries . rural – urban migration could be
controlled if government could make adequate
provision for the needed amenities.
