SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND PARENTAL INFLUENCE ON THE LEARNING OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE AMONG PRIMARY SCHOOLS PUPILS
ABSTRACT
This
study investigated the effect of socio-economic status of parents on the
performance of primary school pupils on the English Language in Oye Local
Government Area of Ekiti State. The socio economic background of students was
based on socio-economic background of students was based on socio status of
parents in relation to their income, living environment and educational
attainment.
A
diagnostic test was administered to determine the children performance in
English Language. Also a questionnaire was used to determine the socio-economic
background of the students. For the purpose of this research, four schools were
selected from Oye Ekiti Local Government.

conclusively,
this is to find out whether or not the socio-economic background of each child
has any influence on his/her performance in English Language.
