ABSTRACT
This research study was aimed at investigating the impact of parents on child access to early childhood education, in Ikere-Ekiti  Local Governemnt Area of Ekiti State. Four research questions were used for the study. The study adopted a descriptive design targeting fifty (50) respondents in Ikere- Ekiti  Local Government Area of Ekiti State. The study administered a set if questionnaires to parents in Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and presented in form of tables, and percentages. Data analyzed formed the bases of research findings, Conclusions and Recommendations of the study. It was also discovered that children that live far distance from school always get late to their respective ECE center. Also most of the children miss class because they come late to school. The parents were also found to have a level of education that is enough to make them understand importance of ECE since they were certificate holders. The study recommended that  government should encourage individual to establish ECE Centers. It was recommended that more ECE centers should be established to enable children get access to preschool education. Finally adult education should be intensified especially in the rural areas to reduce the problem of Low level of education by the parents as well as encouraging them have manageable family sizes as large family sizes have been found to negatively affect enrolment in ECE as well as other levels of education.
