ABSTRACT
          This study focused on record keeping and administration of secondary school in Ekiti-West Local Government area of Ekiti State. It examined the importance and problems of record keeping as perceived by teachers in the Local Government. All institution dealing with man and his activities need records to discharge their duties efficiently and effectively that is why record keeping is very important in the school.
          In investigating this research, a structured question was used as research instrument to gather information from 125 respondents who were randomly selected and sample percentage and percentage count was used to analyze the data.
          The outcome of the findings shows that all the respondents have been actively involved in record keeping. It also revealed that if records are properly kept well-utilized, it would make a difference between a teacher who is well-organized and who is not. It was also revealed that if record in the study that school records have been found to be important instrument to the teachers if accurately recorded, kept and used as a key to successful administration.
          Also based on the findings, it was recommended that school records should be properly kept, checked and regularly inspected at the stipulated intervals, it is also essential for school records to be adequately collated and stored for easy retrieval and for future referencing.
